Writing's On The Wall is a song by Sam Smith, as the theme song of twenty-fourth James Bond movie, Spectre (2015). It was released as the digital download on Friday, 25th September, 2015. It was produced by Smith, along with Jimmy Napes, and Disclosure.

The song became the first Bond theme to hit #1 in the UK Singles Chart. Also, it reached #1 in Scotland.

Background Edit

On September 8th, 2015, Smith confirmed on his social medias, that he will be singing the next theme for James Bond movie. He described performing the theme as one of the highlights of his career.

Composition Edit

The song is written in the key of F minor with a tempo of 66 beats per minute, and Sam's vocals range from the low note, A ♭3 to the high note, D♭5. At the end of two choruses, Smith is using the mix of the chest voice with the transition to head voice.

Music video Edit

The music video was released on 5th October, 2015. It features the singer singing behind the United Kingdom coffins while wearing black suit. It also shows his close-ups, next scenes with other outfits, and bigger close-ups at the ending scenes. The other scenes features outtakes from Spectre.
